The Eugene Foundation

Eugene R. LaMonica Jr. passed away at the age of 13 by suicide. Like many young people, Eugene struggled with his mental health, struggles that with the right support in place, may have been addressed differently. He was a creative, spirited kid who loved to draw, write, and play the drums, with so much life still ahead of him.

In his memory, we are establishing The Eugene Foundation. Our mission is to provide families, friends, and communities with the psycho-education they need to better understand and support those who are struggling, and to underscore how vital that awareness can be in preventing tragedies like his.

While The Eugene Foundation itself is still a work in progress, please consider donating to Vibrant Emotional Health in honor of Eugene.

"Vibrant offers life-saving support to more than 3+ million people each year through 20 national and local programs. Since the July 2022 launch, 988 has received and routed about 10 million calls, texts, and chats."
